Smaller, Lighter, Sexier & Sweeter

Smaller, Lighter & Sexier

The Sound Blaster Roar 2 is specially designed for people who not only appreciate portable speakers for their audio performance, but also for their looks. Wrapped in a stylish sleek housing, the Sound Blaster Roar 2 exudes understated sophistication of a well-designed audio instrument that continues to impress - whether it's in the office, at home or a party.

20% Smaller

20% Smaller

The Sound Blaster Roar is a marvel of acoustic engineering. When we create Sound Blaster Roar 2, we are pushing the limits of acoustic engineering further, to fit the same components into a 20% smaller1 enclosure. However, good bass requires more physical volume. This time, with a smaller volumetric size, our engineers have to work against the laws of physics to tune the audio to be just as mind-shattering and room-filling, like our classic Sound Blaster Roar.

Dual Orientation

Dual Orientation

Whether it's horizontally or vertically placed, the Sound Blaster Roar 2 tunes to your acoustic preference. A horizontal placement lets you experience room-filling and balanced audio. Alternatively, a vertical placement has a smaller footprint but it produces louder and more directed audio and brings the controls on the back panel closer to you. The Sound Blaster Roar 2 is meant to have dual orientation, with your convenience in mind.

The Sound Blaster Roar Sound Signature

Bi-Amplified Design: Two Amps, Not One

Bi-Amplified Design: Two Amps, Not One

Most portable speakers utilise a single amplifier to reproduce the entire audio spectrum. With a single amplifier design, much demand goes into reproducing the lows and mids, which compromises the delivery of the highs. On the other hand, the Sound Blaster Roar 2 utilises two amplifiers - one dedicated to driving lows and mids, and another is solely dedicated to deliver the high frequencies. This allows the speaker to produce uncompromisingly clear, high definition, and well-balanced music. The top-firing bass and mid-level driver is also laid horizontally, reducing the speaker's center of gravity, thus stabilizing it.

Same Five High-performance Speaker Drivers

Despite having a smaller enclosure, the Sound Blaster Roar 2 houses the same premium five drivers as the Sound Blaster Roar. From the two far-field tweeters, a powerful subwoofer and two unobstructed passive radiators, which are beautifully machine-finished, every element of the design is thoughtfully considered to enhance your audio experience.

Clean, Powerful Bass

Clean, Powerful Bass

The active 2.5″ driver pumps out impressive mids and lows. Directing the audio upwards also stabilizes the speaker and provides for a wider soundstage that does not require the listener to be situated in the audio sweet spot.

Compact, Powerful, High Frequency Drivers

Durable and lightweight high-frequency drivers deliver balanced highs. These dual 1.5” premium drivers are also designed to provide far-field high-frequency dispersion.

Beautifully Machine-Finished Passive Radiators

Beautifully Machine-Finished Passive Radiators

The Sound Blaster Roar 2 features dual unobstructed passive radiators that deliver unparalleled bass reproduction for a speaker of its class. It not only sounds good, its glossy finish also adds a touch of iridescence to the look. The passive radiators pulsate mesmerizingly − users can now not only hear the bass, but they can actually feel and see the powerful bass in action.

ROAR button with white light

ROAR: Instant No-Holds-Barred Audio Power

Great for parties or where a larger audience needs to be addressed, the ROAR feature boosts overall loudness and utilizes the speaker's built-in Digital Signal Processor to intelligently widen audio output for bigger and wider sound stage!

TeraBass Button with Green light

TeraBass: Intelligently Boosts Bass When Audio Levels Are Low.

TeraBass is a feature that intelligently makes up for the perceived loss of bass during low volume playback — all without artificially over-accentuating bass levels.

High Quality Wireless Audio Codecs

High Quality Wireless Audio Codecs

Not settling for just the basic sub-band coding (SBC) wireless transmission over Bluetooth, the Sound Blaster Roar 2 is also equipped with aptX® and AAC high definition codecs that deliver high resolution, higher quality wireless Bluetooth audio.

  • Earfonia (Head-Fi)

Even when compared with the newer model, Creative Sound Blaster Roar 2 is still a solid and good sounding Bluetooth speaker that holds its own value pretty well. It is feature rich and has good battery life. A nice solution for music lovers on the go, or those who need a small and simple, but good sounding speaker. Sound Blaster Roar 2 is a perfect companion for modern multimedia gadgets.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • The Gadgeteer

Music sounds great. The speaker sounds way larger than it is with plenty of bass that can be set for indoors or outdoors. It’s solidly built and looks more expensive than it is. There is nothing about the Creative Roar 2 that I have serious complaints about. It’s a true audio bargain.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Custom PC Review

The Creative Sound Blaster ROAR 2 is truly in a league of its own with its small size, relatively light weight, and bi-amplified design that simply can’t be matched by anything on the market.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • GottaBeMobile

I’ve used a lot of Bluetooth speakers, and none have made me (and friends) say, “WOW” quite like the Roar 2 did. It’s extremely clear, crisp, and sharp. Then gets louder and louder without any distortion. Then, hitting the Roar or Terra Bass mode on back makes it even better. It’s so loud it shakes the table, all without distortion or nasty sound output.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Sound Guys

The Sound Blaster Roar 2 uses bi-amplified design, with one driving the lows and mids, and another amp just for the highs. This allows for much more accuracy in the lower mids and better low mid depth than we see in many speakers in this price range. Even with ROAR engaged, vocals carry through load and clear, and electric guitars are well represented, making this speaker great for any guitar-heavy music from rock to pop to blues... There is more shimmer and sparkle to high end details like cymbals and tambourines than in speakers from Creative’s competitors.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Android Police

The Sound Blaster Roar 2 comes in at $170, putting this speaker right in the center of what I generally think of as the mid-range price point. But make no mistake - this is a premium speaker through and through. Really, the only thing mid-range thing about it is the price.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Tech Radar

The Sound Blaster Roar 2 is a marked improvement on its predecessor. It's lighter and 20% smaller, but no less powerful. It has a pretty stellar sound, and while it couldn't fill an auditorium like some 7.1 systems can, the Roar 2 puts out a respectable amount of noise. It's also one of the best-looking speakers around.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Tech Hive

The Roar 2 is a very good, well-balanced speaker whether you’re using it for near-field listening or looking to fill a moderately large room with background music.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

The Roar 2 can reach high volume levels with low distortion, delivering excellent clarity and incredible vocals throughout.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Examiner

Sound Blaster Roar 2- this speaker delivers amazing sound in a small frame. Like its predecessor It has crisp five high-performance speaker drivers that make any room into a party.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Brooko (Head-Fi)

The Roar2 has a wonderfully balanced sonic signature with very good clarity and overall sound quality. It has a host of features, and as a portable Bluetooth speaker for a small gathering, heading away to the holiday home, or just chilling with friends, I haven’t personally heard any better options for the price.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • iLounge

In the sound department, Sound Blaster Roar 2 is a top performer for its size and price range, offering strong, well-rounded performance from song to song in various genres… There’s a lot to love about Creative’s Sound Blaster Roar 2. It’s not the flashiest Bluetooth speaker out there, but it’s hard to beat when it comes to features... at that price, Sound Blaster Roar 2 is hard to beat, and it earns our high recommendation.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • lin0003 (Head-Fi)

Creative have really impressed me with the Roar 2. It is feature packed, sounds great through all the connections and Creative seem to have crammed everything they can think of into it. You’d be hard pressed to find someone who genuinely dislikes the sound that comes from the Roar 2s, they seem to cater for everyone, even bassheads with their Tera Bass option. Even though I have never heard the original Roar before, I feel like the $200 price tag is very easily justified, and if you are looking for a portable speaker in this price range, the Roar 2 is worth at least a consideration.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • BloodyPenguin (Head-Fi)

...what most important with the Roar 2 and that its value. You get so much in such a small footprint. Great sound from a portable device, multiple/easy connections, nice additional features, all within a great build… It is great to have some good quality background music that is easy on the ears. Plus if we get a phone call, it is easy then to switch over for a quick conversation. All and all, a wonderful, full featured Bluetooth Speaker.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • PCMag

To its credit, the Roar 2 handled our bass test track, The Knife's "Silent Shout," very well. It didn't shake the walls, but it reproduced the bass synth and kick drum at maximum volume without distortion.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • HardwareHeaven

For music playback, everything worked well. The standard profile offers decent bass and nice clear highs. We did like the overall feel which was created by the Warm Sound profile in the software control panel too... Roar mode is nuts… for such a small speaker and when you enable maximum sound through using it on the mains, the volume on offer is surprising. Easily enough for a decent sized gathering in a large room while offering playback that has minimal distortion even at the products limits.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • GamingShogun

Overall, the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Roar 2 Bluetooth speaker continues the high quality journey started by the original Sound Blaster Roar. It has all of the bells and whistles of its predecessor in a 20% smaller package – perfect for taking it on the go.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

I was impressed all around with the performance of the small Creative SoundBlaster Roar 2. It does a lot, and sounds great! If you are in the market for a similar device, the Roar 2 should be on your short list.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Android Authority

With two high frequency drivers, a woofer, and two passive radiators on either side, this speaker creates a nice, crisp, and clear sound, with great bass. While it can get pretty loud, it’s not going to be loud enough to make your neighbors upset, which is obviously a plus in a dorm environment.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

It justifies its price with big audio and a variety of useful features. First off, the sound is loud and clear. The Sound Blaster Roar 2 uses five drivers, including two high-frequency, a woofer, and two passive radiators, to create a sound that can fill any room. It has far more output than any Bluetooth speaker I've heard.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Legion Hardware

I was blown away by how loud the Roar 2 is, and not just that but the audio clarity at high volumes is very impressive...There is a lot to like about the Roar 2 and some of the highlights for us other than the amazing audio quality were the dual charging mode, smartphone charge and the built-in MP3 player...Overall the Creative Sound Blaster Roar 2 is a must have item for anyone seeking an audiophile grade portable speaker without having to sell an organ.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • High-Def Digest

With the Sound Blaster Roar 2, Creative has refined a great, multi-purpose Bluetooth speaker into an even better package. Try as I might, I could find little to no fault with the Roar 2. It simply sounds great in a variety of situations and has a versatility that ought to embarrass hordes of other Bluetooth speakers.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Digital Trends

The original Roar impressed us by blasting music at the highest volumes for its size, although a little distortion crept in when we pushed it that far. The same is true here, yet again, and once more we’re impressed at those volumes, in spite of a smaller frame.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Chip Chick

Coming in black or white for $170, this is a really great buy for myriad speaker scenarios. It serves well as a gaming speaker system or a small-business speaker for conference calls, presentations, and recordings. The sound capabilities are complex, smart, and versatile. The system is straightforward and easy to use, with sci-fi sounding female robot voice prompts.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • TweakTown

This speaker provides full and crisp audio at most sound levels. However, with the added extra sound features comes added responsibility. You're going to have to chop and change your settings if you want the best sound experience out of every song. This means switching between normal, TeraBass for extra fullness, or Roar for pure volume and power.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Vortez

...the Roar 2 is competitively priced and its smaller and lighter frame will make for a more attractive proposition. The audio performance is well tuned, the Tera bass/ ROAR modes do their job at giving that extra presence when needed. Some may want a more bass heavy experience from their speaker and so may prefer to opt for something known for their subjectively 'improved' bass response. Even at full volume the Roar 2 is never harsh and simply sounds great.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Truly Gadgets

The Roar 2 can remember up to eight Bluetooth devices, and there’s PS4 connectivity as well. And the audio signature is similar to the Roar, with pretty solid output and a decent low end (you can turn on bass boost if you wish).

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Digital Hippos

Really, this speaker blew me away. When you turn the power on, a little chime with some bass comes up. It gives me nerdy geeky girl chills. If you want to crank up the bass to insanity levels, the ROAR button can be activated and you neighbors might hear it. Seriously, I am stunned at how much power, volume, and quality Creative has engineered into this. GO GET ONE!

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Game Scouts

The Sound Blaster Roar 2 is a fantastic Bluetooth speaker system, and Creative Labs is inching closer to perfection. The Roar 2 is beautifully designed, rich in features and boasts stunning audio performance whether you’re listening to music or playing games.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • San Diego Family

The sound is amazing for such a small speaker... And it looks great, too.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Hardwarezone

Starting our testing off with some high resolution tracks to get a general sense of how the Sound Blaster Roar 2 sounded, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the experience was very much like the original. Vocals are warm and clear, and there is good presence.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Honeycombers

For its size, the shiny-new machine delivers exceptional sound with the same mind-blowing five-speaker drivers, the same electrical design, and the same battery capacity (eight hours, people!) as the classic Roar. What this translates to: Warm music, clear vocals, a solid bass, and a room-filling audio magnificence that are just perfect for house parties. We played all kinds of genres – acoustic, pop, EDM, classical, jazz, deep house, rock and the list goes on – with it, and the Sound Blaster Roar 2 blew us away song after song.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • Tech Attack

Maintaining the same innards as its predecessor means that the Roar 2 essentially can handle just about any genre of music you throw at it - classical, opera (not the same), hard rock, jazz, musicals, live recordings, funk, classic rock, electronic, dance. Those are just what I have in my library, and if tests are anything to go by, the list goes on. Nuances that you would think to forgo in a portable speaker surprise you by showing up anyway - the squeak of fretting on guitars, shadow beats on cymbals and drums, breathy harmonics on a flute. These are the marks of solidly crafted mid-high frequency drivers.

    Sound Blaster Roar 2

  • SuperAdrianMe

...and it being an awesome version of your ol’ skol’ PC speaker and gladly portable in this instance does sound Warm and much more bassy if played with its TeraBass, or Roar function, so all is very very very well for a S$229 price tag.
