1.  How do I turn on my player's X-Fi enhancements?
By default, your player's My Shortcut button is set to access the X-Fi enhancements. You can also select 'X-Fi' on your player's main menu.

Please note that you can assign other features to the My Shortcut button aside from the X-Fi features.

2.  How do I transfer music, videos, and photos to my player?
Use the software that comes with your player, Creative Centrale. Alternatively, you may use Windows Media® Player 10/11.

3.  What are the factors that affect the battery playtime?

Many factors affect the battery playtime, some of these include the following:

  • Frequent skipping of files
  • Playing high-bitrate music files
  • High volume levels when using your player
  • Excessive use of LCD backlight
  • Using special features like the built-in speaker and X-Fi enhancements

4.  Can I charge my player without using my computer?
Yes. You can conveniently charge your player from a power outlet using a Creative Universal Power Adapter, which is available separately. For more information, visit www.creative.com/zenadapter.

Media Server
1.  What is ZEN X-Fi's Integrated Wireless LAN feature?
Available in the 16GB and 32GB ZEN X-Fi players, the integrated wireless LAN feature allows you to access digital content wirelessly within a home network, as well as send instant messages within an available open Wireless LAN hotspot. An open/authorized Wireless LAN (802.11 b/g) is required for wireless access.

2.  What are the benefits of wireless content access within my home network?
You can wirelessly stream and access your entire PC Media Library anywhere throughout your home for instantaneous playback without having to worry about the limitations of your player's on board memory capacity. You will also be able to wirelessly download and refresh your player's digital content on-the-fly.

3.  How do I convert my PC into a Media Server?

Start Creative Centrale on your computer and follow these simple instructions:

  1. Click the Settings button on the menu bar.
  2. On the pop-up screen that appears, click Centrale Media Server.
  3. In the Server Name textbox, enter a name of your choice.
  4. Click the checkbox beside Enable Creative Media Server and follow the instructions that appear on the Screen.

4.  Why is the player unable to fast forward or rewind while streaming?
This option is not supported for audio and video streaming.

5.  What is the recommended video format for streaming?

For best results, it is recommended to use AVI container format with the following codec and video attributes:

  • Codec: MPEG-4 SP or ASP without GMC or Qpel
  • Resolution: 320 x 240
  • Frame Rate: up to 30 fps
  • Video Bitrate: up to 800 Kbps
  • Audio Bitrate: 128 Kbps MP3
